More Fruits and Veggies Please

When it comes to my blog I will be posting recipes but also the reasoning behind them. For this first one I will be going over the perks of eating fruits and vegetables with a healthy smoothie recipe as well. These 2 groups of food are often the hardest for people to consume but it is easy to start incorporating in diets. All it takes is around 5 minutes a day and you can start getting in the routine of adding fruits and vegetables to your daily diet.
Fruits and Veggies…
Add color to plates. This is especially great if you have children who eat based on color or for those eating a healthy diet that they feel may look bland.
Are low calorie and fruits especially have fiber which can help those dieting feel full and help to lose weight.
Are a fun snack for those of all ages.
Can help reduce disease risk.
Each have a unique taste and unique varieties.
Fruity Cutie Smoothie (Makes 1 16 oz. serving)
Ingredients:
1 banana sliced in pieces
1 cup orange juice
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (leaves cut off)
½ cup Greek yogurt (helps with binding everything together)
Directions:
Add in the orange juice
Add the yogurt
Add in the strawberries then bananas
Mix in blender for 30 seconds-1 minutes depending on strength of blender.
