It would not do me any good to post recipes if I did not share a few helpful tips I came across for grocery stores.

1. When looking at cooled sections especially with meat look at the thermometers. If you can not locate one it might be a bad sign. If you can look to see if the temperature is 40 degrees and below for fridge foods and 0 degrees and below for freezer items.

2. Do not buy meat from a case that is not organized and overstuffed. There is a good chance that there has been some temperature problems which can cause safety issues in food.

3. Some grocery stores will glaze meat that is about to go bad in teriyaki sauce so beware when buying already glazed or marinated meat.

4. Make sure that grocery stores keep the raw and already cooked food in separate areas. You would not want to eat something that was ready to eat but got contaminated by raw food.

5. Try to avoid using utensils that have fallen into bowls in salad bars. These can contaminate the food with different items that were on other customer's hands.

6. Buying in bulk may not always be best. When vegetables are stored in bulk they are cheaper then buying one by one but not worth it in a few cases. One is if you do not plan on using the whole bag, as well as some bulk vegetables and fruit can have bruises or be rotting but you can not see that in a bag.
